H-E-B MacGregor
Market: The Power of Collaboration

How it happened

The Third Ward and Riverside communities are a few of Houston’s oldest, most significant African-American communities. On behalf of Texas’ largest grocer, H-E-B, and supported by the City of Houston, we facilitated approvals to develop the company’s first traditional format store in the community. Beyond the grocer’s investment of over $25,000,000, the City of Houston facilitated $13,850,000 in funding for the site acquisition in conjunction with the Houston Housing Finance Corporation, thanks to a Section 108 loan and CDBG-EDI grants.
